Discuss Your Impressions of Yesterday's Refugee Assembly
I thought that yesterday's assembly was very saddening. I think that having to hear the stories of their life first hand makes it more powerful then any written work. Allowing them to explain their story in their own way and hearing the emotion in their voice makes it really depressing. However it is at the same time inspiring. To hear that the hope didn't break during the course of years. Leaving loved ones, not knowing if they would ever see them again. And having to leave the place they called home just to escape their fears. It was also inspiring to see the works of people. Constructing schools and other facilities because refugees aren't allowed to go to school without the right permits.

When You Choose Your Issue Blog: What is the issue? Why have you chosen it? Add pics/links
We chose Child Soldiers as the issue we thought was the most interesting. With many children being forced to join the Myanmar government to fight the opposing army. Being stolen from their parents and placed into the front lines with guns in which they can barely handle. Treated like pests or rats, given little food to eat and water to drink.
We found this interesting to us because we wanted to know why would the government and the communists be so desperate to use children as a resource. And with strict rules and painful punishments some of the deaths weren't caused by a gun.
To complete our assignment we decided to write diary entries about our lives in different armies. Describing how we get captured and if we die or escape. Im will be writing from the perspective of a child in the LRA (Lords Resistance Army). I plan to at least describe some of the realistic events that happen inside the camps. And to tell a good story by making it sound like a kid who is actually getting punished or fighting on the front lines.
I also think that we might describe each other in our stories. If we see each other or help them. Talking about what happens to them to show that we are connected in our problems and situations.

What Is/Are The Issue/s That You Think You Would Like To Focus on? Why?
The issues I would like to focus on will have this sense of imprisonment to them. Choosing topics that would make people do something they don't want to or capturing and torturing. The subject I would like to work on the most would be Child Soldier. Forcing kids to kill or attack people just because they need more troops. Living under harsh rules with deadly consciences, having to kill friends because of moving when they weren't told to and other small things that could get you beaten to death.
My second choice would be Human Trafficking because it is a major problem in LEDC (Less Economically Developed Countries) with less income and higher child birth. People/children getting sold for money or to pay off debts. Forced to work for long periods of time usually doing hard or dangerous work for little pay.

Share 3 Things You Learned From Monday's Presentations
During mondays presentation I learned that Nelson Mandela was in prison for 27 years before being released. I learned that there are 54 articles in the Convention of the Rights of the Child which state specific rights the child has all the way up to 18 years old, where they become independent. Finally i learned that the editor and chief of WikiLeaks (Julian Assange) Started hacking when he was 16 years old.

Share 3 Things That You Learned From Thursday's Presentations
I learned that before the UN (United Nations) existed, there was the League of Nations which was formed by president Woodrow Wilson. I also learned that Gandhi performed a 24 day march to produce salt, even though there was a law that they couldn't produce salt, they had to buy it and pay taxes. And finally i learned that the name 'United Nations' was created Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Is Your Presentation Completed? Explain
I think that our presentation is 'Almost' finished because of some things i need to edit in. And to make sure they link more into our topic. I am also going to do a check to make sure that there aren't any parts where it is too fast or too slow. So that the information is informative as well as it understandable. But overall i think that our presentation is done because we have got the information, we have written the bibliography at the end and included pictures to show what was happening.

Why Is A Bibliography Important?
A Bibliography is important because it shows the process of how you got the information. From where you got the information to how you added and changed the original text. This also shows how you have interpreted the information and wether or not you just copied and pasted it. This is helpful towards the teacher too because it shows how creative the pupil is when having to do a presentation.
