Describe How You Organized Your Research Process: Sources, Notes from sources, Focus Question

First of we decided on how we should present our work. I worked with Aqmar so we had to chose the form of presentation that we both were comfortable with. We concluded with choosing IMovie as our choice. I then am going to find information that answers our focus question "How Does This Issue Connect to Human Rights?" I gave the answer a criteria in that it had to be both informative as it is interesting. Getting to the point quickly and not write loads of sentences. As for pictures, I am going to find some pictures to go behind the words and what we say so that its not just a blank background.

Which Historical Aspect/s of Human Rights Are You interested In Focusing On?

I chose 2 topics that i would like to do, with WWII being the 1 I want to focus most on. I chose this because that was the time Human Rights was almost completely forgotten. And it shows how 1 man can voice his opinion and persuade people to join him and kill millions of people. Secondly i chose Mahatma Gandhi because of the way he protested against colonization and how he persuade people to create and join the Gandhi-Irwin Pack.

How do You think we should tackle Learning about the History of Human Rights?

I think we should tackle Human Rights by starting to focus on the how Human Rights have impacted our history. Wether it being slavery and torture, to when the rules where writen. This may be useful because some topics may branch of into smaller problems that may have not been talked about through most people.

Are You Happy With Our Rankings? Explain Why or Why Not

I think that the order we chose is good because, not only does it show what we as a class have voted on. But its lists in order what should be at the top, to what we least need. So in all, i think that the way we ordered it was great because its what i would've ordered from 1 to 6.

Describe How You Felt Working In Our Circle Yesterday

I felt awkward speaking in front of the class yesterday because i didn't know which direction to talk towards, unless i was arguing or adding on to what the other person said. But i still thought that the circle was a great idea to get people talking and sharing ideas. Especially when we used the bear to show that if you don't have the bear, you can't talk and had to wait till the bear was given to you.

Why Do You Think We Could Not Agree On The Ranking Of HR Yesterday?

I think that nobody could agree on a ranking yesterday because everybody has a different perspective of what they chose. Some might see the basics human rights essential for a good life, but some may think that something like 'The right to speech' is unimportant because they think actions are louder then words. So i think that everyones different opinions lead to our discussion not being able to agree on a ranking.

Describe The Ranking & Why You Chose This Order

                      Top 3

1. No discrimination
2. Right to live
3. Equal pay for men and women
4. Both genders
5. Freedom of religion
6. Freedom of speech
6. Freedom Speech
7. No torture/unusual punishment
8. Right for health care
9. Protection
10. Privacy
11. Security.
12. Right to shelter
13. Right to freedom
14. Right for education

I chose this order because i think that Discrimination is a very powerful topic. It shows how people react to one another. They either judge people by their color or by where they have come from. This can lead to wars and arguments. Secondly, i think that the Right To Live important as well. However it depends how you define 'Live'. It could mean dead or alive, or to be so restricted from another person that you don't have the choice to say what you want.
Last of all, i think that Equal Pay for Men & Women is important because if a man gets paid less then a woman just because she is liked by the boss. It isn't towards the man.

How Does The Story Freedom River Connect to Human Rights?

I think it connects to Human Rights by showing what people did to try to tell the others what they were doing to the river, and people were so blinded by their arrogance that they ignored him and attacked him. Or that the people that lived on the river wouldn't let any outsiders in, by blocking all the entry points. And also how it showed that all those people would do anything to purify the river that they lived on.

What Do You Think Is The Most Important Human Right?

When it comes to the most important human right, I think that discrimination is very important. No person should be better then another just because they are from different places or ages. We (as humans) are all the same. There are people like the UN who are working against discrimination worldwide. Slavery, Racism and Gender Inequality is just a small part of discrimination in the world, but not a small thing to stop.
